tropical mini-state Goa in India, with reverse sides

Goa was a Portuguese colony until 1961. As a result, Goa today offers a unique blend of Indian and Portuguese culture and architecture, which visibly distinguishes it from the rest of India. Goa is home to Hindus, Roman Catholics and a smaller Muslim population.

Goa is also considered one of the most peaceful states in India. Because of its paradise beaches and delicious food, Goa is a magnet for tourists from all over the world.

Tourism is an important source of income, but it also has a dark side. It weighs on the local population. Foreigners' fascination with Goa has brought with it pollution and prostitution. Tensions arise between villages and large hotels.
